The Vaults Building
Bradford on Avon Town Council has sought expressions of interest for The Vaults on the Kingston Mills site.
The Vaults Building on the Kingston Mill site has been offered by the developer to Bradford on Avon Town Council for community use. Now that West Wiltshire District Council has approved the planning application for the site, the Town Council would like to progress this project.
The listed building consists of three vaults, which are in fact at ground level with access from the Lamb Yard. The total floor area will be 3,000sq feet and the building will be offered as a renovated shell, which will then need to be developed internally for the agreed use.
The Mayor, Vicky Landell Mills said “It’s an exciting offer, but a challenging one. What activity will benefit from being in such a central spot and will itself bring a buzz to the new development? What will be financially viable?”
The Town Council is considering two propsals
1. A Heritage Centre
2. An Arts Centre
Details of the proposals will be presented at the Annual Town Meeting on 15th April 2008 at 7.30pm in St Margaret's Hall.
