Pleasure Boats for Hire on The River
Bradford on Avon Town Council in conjunction with the Family Adventure Store from Hilperton operated Canadian Canoes for hire on the river from the quayside adjacent to St Margaret’s Hall at weekends during the school holidays during Summer 2007when weather permitted.
The boats operated between the Packhorse bridge and the railway bridge by Kingston Mills and held 2-4 people.
Town Clerk, Diane Holmes said ‘Having tried out the canoes myself, it is an experience just to view the Town bridge from under the arches and one not to be missed. We hope that the red canoes will become quite feature in the town during the summer months’ ‘Canadian canoes were chosen for their safety and stability and no previous experience is required.’
It is planned for the boats to oerate again in Summer 2008.
